Hi! My name is Jalen Thurgood and I grew up in Salmon Arm, BC. My passion for Icelandic Horses comes from my grandparents, Toos and Arnold Faber, the owners of Fitjamyri Icelandic Horses. My love for Icelandic Horses grew as I participated in countless clinics and competitions. I attended the International Icelandic Horse Youth Cup in Sweden and the National Icelandic Horse Youth Cup in Washington, where I furthered my riding skills and my horsemanship. 

 

I am currently completing my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. After school, I look forward to my future of breeding and training a few horses a year and hopefully having the opportunity to show again. 

 

My goal is to maintain the breed standard so that we can continue to have quality Icelandic Horses in Canada.
